On Sunday a wedding cortege shut off Moscows main road and the guests shot with guns in the air. They all were residents of the North Caucasian republic of Dagestan.<br>In reality this story is not about nationality of those who were shooting. Their behavior does not differ from the behavior of Russian gilded youth, both inside or outside Russia.

The Dagestani shooter story triggered a wave of anti-Caucasian sentiment across Russian social networks.

Authorities are split by their opinions. United Russia party official Sergey Zheleznyak said that he thinks the fine of $66 which the shooters ended up with was too mild of a punishment. Another official, a member of the Federation Council, Mikhail Kapura, defended the fine, saying that no matter what the punishment is, the issue's roots are in a lack of culture among the shooters.
However, it is not just residents of Caucasus republics who know little about culture.

A journalist from the Russia Today TV Channel was shot by a businessman and the nephew of the former vice-governor of Saint-Petersburg, Sergey Virolainen. The son of the head of Odintsovo district of Moscow region, Gleb Kondratyuk, shot at a driver who was simply driving by.

And when it comes to Russians "partying" abroad, it obvious that we cannot only judge our Caucasian residents.

Six young men ordered 90 bottles of Crystal champagne in Europe. Four other Russians aged from 20 to 25 chased each other in Switzerland driving luxurious cars. One of them, driving over 200 km/h, crashed into the car of an elderly German man.

Foreign media describe how Russians party in the south of France. These stories evidently trigger the same irritation among the locals as the story with the residents in Moscow.

In a country where the rich, government officials and law enforcement officers of all levels feel that they are of a higher sort of people, the desire to party and hang loose naturally spreads to the whole population.

Some of them shoot into the air on a central Moscow street, some of them recklessly drive Ferraris among modest Europeans with simpler cars. These things have nothing to do with nationality. They come from the savage nature which we have in Russia today.
