In October 22, the Military Prosecutor General conscripted solders were found to have pneumonia in a military unit in Domodedovo, just outside Moscow. An audit by the prosecutor's office showed that the disease had been spreading among the conscripts. An announcement was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the military Prosecutor General's press service.

"The Prosecutor General's office has established that the cause of pneumonia among soldiers is from a low level of training and vaccination, a lack of cold prevention measures, and frequent airing of sleeping rooms," said a representative of the PG as quoted by Interfax.

"In order to eliminate the violations, disciplinary proceedings are being conducted against the unit commander and the chief of the medical service. The remedy of the violations has been taken under control," the PG's office emphasized.

Earlier Thursday, the commander of the Uzhursk missile base reported that there were already 23 soldiers of his division in medical institutions of Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In February 2012, the Uzhursk division had experienced an outbreak of illnesses: acute respiratory disease and pneumonia affected more than 600 soldiers, and one soldier died in the Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital.

The incident was due to a violation of temperature control limits in the barracks and the poor organization of health care personnel.
