Leonid Razvozzhaev has been charged with "planning mass riots" after a screening of his film "Anatomy of a protest-2", reports the official website of the Investigative Committee.
"Razvozzhaev has been charged with preparation of riots," the statement published on the IC website states.
Meanwhile, opposition lawyer Violetta Volkova will not be defending Razvozzhaev whose interests conflict with those of her other clients, including "Left Front" leader Sergei Udaltsov.
"According to the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code of Russia, one and the same person can not be a defender of the two suspects or accused, if the interests of one of them is against the interests of the other ... Lawyer Volkova's criminal case protects the interests of the accused Udaltsov Lebedev ... The investigation into Volkov's client is yet to be decided, which will happen in due course, " writes the IC website.
"On October 26, 2012 the Central Investigation Department for a charge called Sergei Udaltsov and his lawyer Violetta Volkova."
The authors of "Anatomy of protest-2" argue that the opposition is ready to seize power by force funded by money from abroad. On October 22, it became known that Razvozzhaev confessed to organizing riots.
Razvozzhaev was arrested in Kiev in front of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Ukraine, where Razvozzhaev was granted refugee status. On Monday, the Investigative Committee announced that the opposition had made a confession and pleaded guilty to all charges. Associates of Razvozzhaev noted that the opposition could not have admitted to such things, and therefore he had given testimony under torture.
