Volunteers who worked at the APEC summit in Vladivostok have been left without a cruise trip to Japan which Vladimir Putin had promised them. On September 9, Putin promised to award 500 volunteers for their work with a trip to Japan on the ocean liner "Sea legend."
On Thursday volunteers published a public letter to Putin where they complained that they did not get to go on a cruise and that officials and their wives went to Japan instead.
As the volunteers wrote, on September 9 they were told that only 70 out 500 volunteers could go on the liner.
"We were told that the deadline to submit all the documents for visas was September 10," the volunteers wrote.
The Primorskiy region governor Vladimir Miklushevskiy suggested orgajizing a similar cruise to China, but most of the volunteers refused.
