On Monday, the Moscow City Court ruled against socialite, TV host, and opposition leader Ksenia Sobchak and upheld the investigation's refusal to return her money. The money, more than a million euros, 480,000 dollars and 480,000 rubles, was seized during a search into the cause of the protest-turned-riot at Bolotnaya square, reports RAPSI.

The court dismissed Sobchak's appeal against an earlier verdict from the Basmanny Regional Court of Moscow, which in July also refused to return Sobchak's money, arguing that the matter was not within the competence of the court, but with the investigation itself.

In late July, Basmanny Regional Court dismissed the TV host Ksenia Sobchak, to require investigator dismissed the TV host Ksenia Sobchak, to require investigators to return the seized on June 11 during a search 1.4 million euros.

The money was seized in June 11, and investigators justify their refusal to return the money by saying that the money could be going to pay for the riots.

In contrast to Sobchak's case, on Wednesday, investigators returned 10,000 rubles to oppositionist Alexei Navalny. His money was also confiscated in connection with the Bolotnaya square case.

"And then one of the Bolotnaya square case investigators came and solemnly gave me the 10,000 rubles that were seized during a search of my flat. Envy me, Sobchak," Navanly commented in his blog.

In August, the Moscow City Court upheld the legality of searches of the flats of Navalny, Ilya Yashin, and Boris Nemtsov, in connection with the Bolotnaya square case.

On June 11, the eve of the "March of millions 2", investigators raided the houses of organizers and participants of the Bolotnaya rally that was held on May 6 and ended in clashes with police. The homes of several opposition leader's were searched, in particular: Sergei & Anastasia Udaltsov, Alexei Navalny, Ksenia Sobchak, Ilya Yashin, and Boris Nemtsov.
