Voter turnout has already exceeded 12%, reports Central Election Commission assistant director Leonid Ivlev.
"At 10am Moscow time, 12.2% of registered voters already voted at their polling centers," he said at the CEC information center on Sunday.
According to Ivlev, at 10am in the Duma elections only 5.3% of voters had already voted, and in the 2008 presidential election voter turnout was 8.9%.
"Now we are seeing growth. Turnout is significantly higher in comparison to previous elections," remarked Ivlev.
