According to the press service, at around 5:00am on Tuesday three men approached a Volvo-SH truck that was parked on Izhora street. The men presented some document to the driver and asked him to get out, they then put a sack over his head. The driver was then put into another car, taken to an unknown location, taken out of the car, and handcuffed to a tree.

A half an hour after the attack, the driver was freed by passers-by, and he found himself on the Simferopol highway.

The driver, rather than go directly to the police, went back to the parking lot where he had parked his truck and trailer. The trailer contained a refrigerator with 20 tons of beef fat.

Only after he discovered the truck to be missing did the driver, a 33-year-old citizen of Belarus, go to the police.

The value of the truck, trailer and 20 tons of beef fat is about 3 million rubles (about $100,000).
