Narcotics expert accuses The Beatles of promoting drugs

Russia's top narcotics expert, Evgeniy Bryun, has recently linked the growth of drug sales to the Beatles' influence, Interfax news agency reported on Monday.

«When the members of the Beatles went to expand their minds at Indian ashrams, they took this idea of changing their psychological condition through drugs –and brought this idea to the masses. When businesses understood that this could be sold – the pleasure, the stuff that can lead to pleasure – that's when drug dealing started," Bryun said.

According to Bryun, the main task of anti-narcotic forces is to decrease the demand for pleasure. "A human being is in need of pleasure, but in order to get it correctly, one should learn. Unfortunately, there are no such courses, " Bryun added.
